Welcome to the 54th session of the Florida 4-H Legislature! We're excited to have you join us for a full week of LEG activities this summer from June 22-26, 2026.
Review the information below to help you prepare. There is a lot of information. Bookmark this site to be your one spot reference for all the details of the week.

How to Prepare
Preparing for Your Florida 4-H Legislature Experience!

- Schedule
- Full detailed schedules will be provided on Monday at Check-In
- Packing List
- This is a suggested packing list. Check the Tallahassee Weather to ensure you pack comfortably.
- Florida 4-H is not responsible for any lost or misplaced items. A designated Lost and Found area will be available throughout the weekend to assist as needed. We strongly recommend leaving valuables at home.
- Dress Code
- Note that the Florida 4-H Legislature is a business professional event. Follow this dress code to be prepared for the week.
- Download Remind App for Onsite Communication
- We will be utilizing the Remind app to help with onsite communication. You can go to https://www.remind.com/join/leg2026 to connect to the class or follow these Remind App Directions 2026.
- Any youth with a smart phone and access to apps can utilize the app to receive communication throughout the weekend. Families can also sign up to keep up to date with onsite happenings throughout the week.

- Manual 1 – Guidelines & Procedures: This key document outlines expectations for the week.
- Manual 2 – Bill Book & Lobby Chart: Review the bills assigned to your committee or lobby group.
- Choose a few bills from your assigned committee or lobby group you would like to sponsor. Sponsors will be selected during Monday’s opening session at LEG.

Spending Money for LEG Flowers
- A long-standing Florida 4-H Legislature tradition is the Flower Fundraiser! Flowers can be purchased throughout the week and sent to friends as a special way to celebrate accomplishments, show appreciation, or simply brighten someone's day. Flowers will be available for purchase for $1–$3 each, and all flowers will be delivered during the Thursday evening banquet.
- Only card payments will be accepted.
- Code of Conduct
- As you are preparing for the weekend, please keep the Florida 4-H Code of Conduct in mind. All participants will be held responsible for upholding these expectations. General Drop-Off & Pickup (Take Note of Eastern Times)
Drop-Off Monday June 22
- Check-in: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM EST
Note: Early arrivals cannot be accommodated - Parents / Guardians or Adults in Charge must physically sign all youth participants. Youth self-drivers will be asked to turn in their vehicle keys for the week.
- Location: FSU DeGraff Hall East (Dorm Lobby) | 808 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 32304
- Medication Drop Off
- If you take any prescription or over-the-counter medication during the event, list it on the Florida 4-H Medication Form.
- Make sure all medications follow the guidelines listed on the form. Medications that don’t meet these requirements will not be allowed.
- Place all medications and completed form(s) in a Ziploc bag labeled with the participant's name. Turn this in at check-in.
- By 2:00 PM, all participants need to be:
- Checked in and settled into dorm room
- Changed into professional casual attire
- In the dorm lobby, ready to leave for the Capitol
Pickup Friday June 26
- Breakfast included
- Check-out: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM EST
- Authorized drivers (Parents / Guardians or Adults in Charge) must physically sign out youth participants.
- Location: FSU DeGraff Hall East | 808 W Tennessee St, Tallahassee, FL 32304
If you need accommodations outside of these times, complete the Pick-Up/Drop-Off Authorization Form and email it to 4hevents@ifas.ufl.edu.
Please note that we will only allow those designated in your registration to pick you up. If anyone else needs to pick you up, please communicate with us via email at 4hevents@ifas.ufl.edu.
Parking Passes
- Parking passes will be provide to those leaving a vehicle for the week.
Self Drivers & County Vans
- Any vehicles parking for the week should use the DeGraff Hall lot.
- Do not back into parking spaces. You will get a ticket regardless of your parking pass.
- Check-in: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM EST

Meals
Meals
- Breakfast and dinner are included in your registration.
- Lunch is on your own. You’ll have access to the Capitol café, Earley's, or nearby restaurants. Plan to cover your lunch costs Monday–Thursday.

Bus Transportation
The State 4-H bus will depart from 4-H Camp Cloverleaf on Monday, June 22.

Please take a moment to review the state bus assignments and schedule. Corrections must be made by Wednesday June 17, 2026 to Kelsey at khaupt@ufl.edu.
Make note of the bus pick-up and drop off times. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early. The bus cannot wait for late arrivals in order to keep to the bus route schedule.
Note: Parents/guardians must sign in and out youth at pick-up and drop-off. Youth cannot be left at a drop off location without an authorized driver checking them out.Youth serving on the 4-H LEG committee are scheduled to arrive on Sunday. If you only need a ride home on Friday, please respond with that update and confirmation.
Tips for riding on the Bus:-
Clearly label all luggage. Luggage will be stored under the bus.

Pack essentials in a carry-on or backpack (snacks, water, book, headphones, jacket) for you to bring on the bus at your seat.

Bring books, music, tablets, travel games, pillows, and blankets for entertainment and comfort during the ride.

Use headphones for music/videos
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for travel.
- Follow all instructions from bus captains and chaperones.
- Help keep the bus clean by disposing of trash at rest stops or in provided trash bags.

Youth Role Assignments
Florida 4-H Legislature is a youth-led mock government program where participants take on roles such as legislators, lobbyists, media correspondents, presiding officers, and executive officers.

Adult Assignments
4-H LEG would not be possible without our adult chaperones. We appreciate those that are giving of their time and energy during this week to make it a great event for our 4-H'ers!
We will have an adult orientation on Monday to review assignments, explain Adult in Charge (AIC) responsibilities, answer questions, and give you all the support you need to be successful during LEG.

- Each adult will be assigned a group of youth to serve as AIC.
- Please review Guidelines for Adults in Charge (AIC) and Checklist for Adults in Charge (AIC) to prepare.
- You will meet your group during the Monday Meet & Greet and will continue connecting with and supporting them throughout the week.
- View your 4-H LEG 2026 AIC Assignments; a more detailed report will be provided to all adults on Monday during our orientation.
- View your 4-H LEG 2026 Adult Assignments for your roles throughout the event.
- Each adult will be assigned a group of youth to serve as AIC.

Planning Committee Drop-off & Notes
We can’t wait to see you starting Sunday for an unforgettable week! As always if you have any questions, concerns, or comments do not hesitate to reach out.
SUNDAY ARRIVAL & DROP-OFF
- Please arrive on Sunday, June 21, at 1:30PM ET.
- Park and drop-off at Degraff Hall East | 808 West Tennessee Street Tallahassee, FL 32304
- Park at the Degraff Hall designated parking lot.
- Please make sure to eat lunch before arriving as it will not be provided.
- Self-drivers and county vans will need to get a parking pass at check-in.
- Self driving 4-H'ers will need to turn in their keys at check-in.
- Do not back into parking spaces. You will get a ticket regardless of your parking pass.
The first committee meeting starts promptly at 2:30 PM, so be sure you're checked in, settled into your dorm, and ready to get started.

Lost Items
As you are packing, please be aware of what you are packing. Florida 4-H is not responsible for any lost items. We will have a designated "Lost and Found" available throughout the week to help as much as we can.

At 4-H we want to do our best to make sure ALL youth enjoy their time at 4-HU and that their needs are met. We understand that all children have different needs, and we want to do our best to give your child the best experience possible.
