    Wild Turkey*

    The wild turkey is found throughout Florida. It prefers a mix of mature hardwood or pine forest, with open areas like grasslands, pastures, or fields. In Florida, wild turkeys also nest in pine flatwoods with dense saw palmetto understory. Wild turkeys are both excellent swimmers and fliers.
