    Pygmy Rattlesnake

    The pygmy rattlesnake is a small, stout snake found throughout all of Florida. It is most common in palmetto flatwoods, areas with slash pine and wiregrass, and around lakes, ponds, and marshes. Its small, slender rattler makes a sound like that of a buzzing insect.

    The pygmy rattlesnake has a reputation for being an aggressive snake that is quick to strike.
