You have now learned about some of the more common rabbit breeds. This activity is going to ask you to select the best breed for your rabbit project based on what you have learned.

Begin by printing off the My Rabbit Profile activity sheet. If you need help remembering the different breeds, refer back to ARBA or The Domestic Rabbit. Once you have printed the activity sheet, find a picture of the rabbit breed you have chosen and place it in the box provided. Then fill in the blanks for Breed, Max. Weight, Body Type, Fur Type, and Industry.

Once you have collected this information, you will need to read the FOUR information sections below in order to properly answer the six Care Questions about how to properly care for your selected rabbit breed.

 

Caring for Your Rabbit

There are FOUR information sections that you will need to explore in order to learn about what it takes to care for a rabbit:

  • Nutrition: proper foods, treats, and chew toys for healthy rabbits
  • Housing: appropriate housing and equipment for your specific breed
  • Cage Care: cleaning and sanitation of your cage for the health of your rabbit
  • Grooming: how to properly clean and brush a rabbit
