THINK ABOUT IT...

If you have a Mini Rex doe under 6 months of age, which class would she fall under?

2. Weight in Relationship to Showroom Classifications
Each breed class is divided into bucks and does. Each of the sex classes are further divided by age depending on the ideal weight of the breed.

Breeds that have an ideal weight of 9 pounds or more have 3 age classifications per sex (6 classes total). They are:

Juniors: under 6 months of age
Intermediates: between 6/8 months of age
Seniors: those over 8 months of age

Breeds that have an ideal weight of less than 9 pounds have 2 age classifications per sex (4 classes total).

Juniors: under 6 months of age
Seniors: those 6 months of age and over.

Some breeds allow a rabbit that is over weight for a junior or intermediate, to be exhibited in a higher age classification, while others do not. A rabbit can NEVER be exhibited in a younger age classification than its actual age, even when it does not meet the weight requirements.
