Introduction
Showing rabbits is a great way to learn more about rabbits and meet fellow rabbit fanciers. By showing rabbits, you will be able to compete for awards while learning about your rabbit breed and the proper way to select rabbits that conform to their breed standard.

This section will go over general information regarding rabbit shows.
There are many events that youth can participate in when showing
their rabbit. Some of the more popular events are listed below.

ARBA and County Fair Rabbit Events

Poster Exhibit – posters about something learned from a rabbit project. Posters are often evaluated on accurate content, neatness, information, and originality.

Helpful Hints: Pick a specific topic. Include visual aids, but do not overwhelm the information by decorating your poster with too many things. Finish it at least a few days before the show in order to give it time to dry properly.

Illustrated Talk – presentation of information regarding rabbits using visual aids and communication skills.

Helpful Hints: A poster or digital presentation may be helpful aids. Practice your presentation in advance. Topics may include: rabbit care, litter box training, breeding, etc.

Demonstration – demonstration of how to carry out a rabbit- related task.

Helpful Hints: Props can be very helpful, but you can never use live animals in your demonstration. Practice your presentation in advance. Topics may include: grooming, tattooing, cleaning a cage, etc.

Rabbit Showmanship or Royalty Contest – participants judge rabbits (their rabbit and possibly others) while demonstrating their knowledge of rabbits. They may also be quizzed on additional rabbit information and interviewed on their accomplishments within their rabbit project.

Helpful Hints: Review the Standard of perfection for your breed and those that would also most likely be shown. Practice showmanship with your rabbit. Have your friends quiz you about your rabbit knowledge (and be sure to quiz them back!). Use this PowerPoint to review basic showmanship techniques.
