Florida 4-H Executive Board

The Florida 4-H Executive Board is the programming body of the Florida 4-H Council. It is comprised of four (4) delegates from each of the 13 4-H districts, up to 30 Appointees, and the eight (8) state officers.

Throughout the year, there are three (3) Executive Board Weekends that allow members to come together to plan and support statewide programs while build lasting relationships with one another. For more information on these weekend events, click on Executive Board Weekends below.

Executive Board applications are due by August 2. All information regarding applications and being an Executive Board member can be found below.

  • Becoming an Executive Board Member

    Each year, the 13 4-H Districts select up to four (4) Executive Board delegates to represent the voice and interests of their district on the statewide programming board. Any youth, regardless of being elected, can also apply for one (1) of the 30 appointed positions. The applications for these positions are reviewed by the state officer team and are decided upon based on the needs of the Executive Board.

    We recognize that there is a lot of information to process in the packet above. To help answer any questions you have, we will have a live Q+A session on Zoom on Tuesday June 20 at 7:00PM ET/6:00PM CT. Click on the following link to register, Zoom Registration - Exec Board Connections & Q+A. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. This will be recorded and available afterwards.

    Applications will only be accepted through the online form. You can access by clicking the link below. A sample application is included in the Executive Board Information Packet, linked above, to help you prepare.

    Executive Board Application—includes three (3) essay questions and your ranking of preferred committees.

    All applications for district delegates and Executive Board appointees must be submitted by 11:59PM on July 10.

    Once your application is submitted online, your county 4-H professional will receive an email to confirm your application. Your application is not considered complete until their approval is received, so make sure to follow up with them. 

    If you are interested in becoming a member but not quite ready to make the commitment yet, check out the information below for Third Executive Board. This weekend is open to ALL seniors to immerse themselves in all things Executive Board. This weekend is a great opportunity to make connections with youth across the state and experience what it’s like to be a part of this statewide programming board.

District Board Pilot

  • Forge the Future. Leave a Legacy

    1. Are you an Intermediate or Senior 4-H'er (ages 11-18 as of Sept 1 of current 4-H year)?
    2. Do you have potential for strong leadership but have not stepped up yet?
    3. Are you a strong leader doing all the things and want to be part of shaping the future of Florida 4-H?
    4. Are you trying to find your spark and just have not quite homed in on it yet?

    If you answered yes to any of these questions, then your district’s board may be for you! 

    With this being a new thing, we know there are lots of questions. To answer all your questions, we have two resources below:

    All Intermediate and Senior 4-H'ers (ages 11-18 as of Sept 1 of current 4-H year) are invited to:

    • Title: District Board Summit
    • Date: Wednesday May 15
    • Time: 6:00-7:30P ET/5:00-6:30P CT
    • Register: District Board Summit (ufl.zoom.us); you will receive access information at the email you provide at the registration link above
    • Description: We will be kicking off this pilot with all involved youth and adults, building initial connections and working together to develop group norms for each district
