    Camp Life

A week at camp is like no other and we strive to create a magical camp experience every single week. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging, create positive and healthy relationships, and help youth develop life skills through experiential learning in a fun, camping environment. We can accommodate various special needs, so please call to discuss your specific and current needs with our camp director. We look forward to meeting all our summer campers and welcoming them into a week of Camp Life! For more information, please check out our 2025 Timpoochee Summer Camp Handbook

    • Activities

At Camp Timpoochee, campers have the opportunity to engage in marine science programs, kayak and snorkel in the Choctawhatchee Bay, create new arts and crafts, swim, learn STEM and outdoors skills, and so much more. Recreational fields are where group games can be played all day long, and the campfire pit is where campers can learn new songs, participate in skits, and roast marshmallows for an evening treat. Camp Timpoochee’s activities are the perfect mix of education and fun and are sure to make a lasting impression on all campers.

    • Cabin Life and Mealtimes

Overnight summer campers will join a group of fellow peers to create a cabin team. Cabin mates will be of the same gender and will remain the same throughout the week. This provides the opportunity for strong social connections and lasting friendships to be made within each cabin. Campers will also learn and exhibit responsibility by helping to keep their cabin neat and tidy. Each air-conditioned cabin will have two camp staff that supervise their campers in the cabin at night. During the day, various camp staff will take turns supervising campers during activities, with a minimum ratio of 1:8 adults to youth being maintained, as well as no less than two camp staff with campers.

Mealtimes are some of the bests of times, as we all love some good food! Meals are prepared by trained and certified kitchen camp staff, with nutrition, kid food favorites, and dietary needs being at the forefront of meal preparation and planning. Camp Timpoochee’s dining hall provides space for campers to relax and enjoy filling up on food, while spending some social time with friends. If campers have any dietary restrictions or needs, please make sure to indicate that on the camper’s health form during registration. We will try and accommodate as many dietary needs as we can safely do. If any camper would prefer to bring their own snacks and/or meals due to a dietary restriction, please talk directly with the Camp Timpoochee director to further discuss this need.

    • Camp Staff

4-H Camp Timpoochee staff are both the heart behind the magic of camp and the hands that hold everything together. They go above and beyond to make sure each camper feels seen, heard, and important. Timpoochee camp staff are also fun-loving, experienced in working with youth, and are trained to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Camp staff come from various backgrounds and interests, with the desire to gain practical work experiences within a work environment no other job can provide. Camp staff create bonds not only with their campers but also among themselves, as they spend all summer building lasting friendships and gaining peer mentors. Camp Timpoochee staff go through an in-depth staff training and have professional certifications in program areas they supervise and/or teach. All staff have been background screened and gone through youth safety training from the University of Florida/IFAS. 4-H Camp Timpoochee’s staff look forward to meeting their campers and can’t wait for summer camp to begin!
