    • AmeriCorps Environmental Educator

Florida 4-H AmeriCorps members serve Florida 4-H by teaching environmental education classes and activities to the public. AmeriCorps members help to book, organize, deliver, and evaluate environmental educational programs that occur both in and outside traditional classrooms. Camp Timpoochee provides one place where AmeriCorps members educate others about the local ecosystem that Camp Timpoochee is a part of. If you have an interest in teaching others in about the environment in an informal, hands-on setting, we hope you apply to serve Florida 4-H in this way.

    • Summer Camp Cabin Leaders

Summer Camp Cabin Leaders are the vital foundation to our summer camp program. They are a positive role model, create lasting memories for all campers, provide safe cabin supervision, and have fun engaging in camper activities. Cabin Leaders are the primary group of camp staff that provide day and overnight supervision for campers aged 6-16 years. They will be a leader of joy, fun, and adventure while manifesting a loving and inclusive environment in their cabins. They also would be assisting with campfires, crafts, STEM activities, waterfront activities, shooting sports, and many other traditional camp programs.

    • Summer Day Camp Leader

Summer Day Camp Leaders are the vital foundation to our summer camp program, as they are a positive role model, create lasting memories for all campers, assist with day camper integration daily, and have fun engaging in day camper activities. Working as a Summer Day Camp Leader for the University of Florida 4-H Camping Program can provide a season of self-growth and an unforgettable work experience. Many practical work experiences and benefits are gained during a summer at camp, such as leadership, communication, networking opportunities, collaboration with a team, letters of recommendation, and professional development to just name a few. We have had camp staff fulfill internships as part of their employment. If you’re interested in making your summer employment an internship as well, please discuss this idea with your college advisor and Ariel Danley, the 4-H Camp Timpoochee Director.

Please reach out with any questions to timpoochee4h@ifas.ufl.edu.
