ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
At 4-H Camp Timpoochee, our environmental education programs spotlight our amazing backyard—the BAY! Camp Timpoochee is fortunate to be located on the Choctawhatchee Bay and our programs and classes center around teaching marine ecology. The curriculum engages students through experiential learning in an outdoor setting. All classes align with state and national science and education standards, allowing youth to learn in an informal environment. Students will learn about various environmental and outdoor based topics, based upon each visiting group’s goals and objectives. Check out our current programs below and stay tuned for exciting new offerings in development!
MARINE LAB:
At Camp Timpoochee we bring a hands-on learning Marine Lab to our Environmental Education experiences. Our Marine Lab contains saltwater tanks that house local marine life. These educational animals allow us to instruct students on various aquatic species and the habitats they survive in. Students will get an up-close look at these species while exploring marine ecosystems in a unique and experiential way.
